What’s known comes almost entirely from a single source: the Texas Christmas Tree Growers Association directory, which places the farm about 4 miles south of Troup on State Highway 135 and describes it as a cut-your-own Virginia Pine operation. No dedicated farm website, phone number, published hours, or pricing turned up anywhere else checked in this research.

What the record actually confirms

Two things can be stated with reasonable confidence: the farm grows Virginia Pine, and visitors cut their own tree rather than choosing from a precut or staff-cut lot. Beyond that, the record is essentially empty. No activities are listed. No phone number was found, which is unusual even among the thinner listings in this dataset – most farms with minimal web presence still have a phone number on file somewhere, but none surfaced for Hegar Farms in the sources checked.

The “until sold out” model is the detail that matters most

The TCTGA listing describes the farm as open “Friday after Thanksgiving until sold out” – resolving to a 2026 opening of November 27, but with no fixed closing date. That phrasing means the farm’s season length depends entirely on how quickly its Virginia Pine inventory moves, not on a calendar. A small cut-your-own operation without a large stated tree count (unlike some of the larger farms elsewhere in this dataset that mention thousands of planted trees) could plausibly sell through its inventory well before Christmas. If a specific December date is when you’re planning to visit, that’s a real risk worth weighing: there’s no way to know from available sources whether trees will still be standing by then.

Given the almost complete absence of contact information, the most realistic path to visiting Hegar Farms is either checking the TCTGA directory listing directly for any updates closer to the season, or simply driving by the State Highway 135 location south of Troup to see whether the farm is open and has inventory.
