Research notes describe it as a genuinely popular local choice specifically because it holds its needles for months indoors, an advantage over the traditional firs some island shoppers have shipped in from the mainland at a premium.

A two-phase opening worth knowing about

The farm’s own site frames its 2026 season in two stages. It opens on the weekend before Thanksgiving – resolved here to November 21, 2026 – but only Norfolk pine and precut trees are for sale during that early window. The rest of the lineup, including Leyland cypress, Green Giant, and Carolina Sapphire, doesn’t go on sale until the Friday after Thanksgiving. Anyone specifically wanting a cypress variety should wait for that second phase rather than showing up early and finding a smaller selection than expected. No season-end date is published anywhere checked, which is a real gap if you’re trying to plan a visit for later in December.

Regular hours run Wednesday through Sunday, closed Monday and Tuesday, with weekend hours (10am-6:30pm) noticeably longer than the shorter midweek windows (1-6:30pm Wednesday, 2-6:30pm Thursday-Friday). Those specific times come from third-party aggregators rather than the farm’s own hours page, so treat them as reasonably reliable but not gospel – worth a call to confirm if your visit depends on a precise closing time.

Leyland cypress and the farm’s “Primo” varieties are priced as cypress, running $80 to $340 across that same size range. A stand adds $25 and up, and wreaths start at $40. That means the cheapest documented complete purchase – a small Norfolk pine plus a stand – comes to roughly $95 before tax, while a full-size Leyland cypress with a stand tops out well over $300. Cash, major credit cards, and Apple Pay are all accepted; checks are not, and there’s no delivery, so plan on hauling the tree yourself.

Worth knowing before you drive out

Research notes describe staff as genuinely helpful with cutting and loading trees into vehicles, which matters more than usual here since some of these trees run up to 12 feet. The same notes flag that the farm gets busy on weekends close to Thanksgiving, with the larger Norfolk pines selling out first – so if a big tree matters to you, don’t wait.
